Friday, November 8, 2019 - Morning Weather Discussion

COLD this weekend with a few flurries around and then rain and possibly a little snow Tuesday…

It will be cold this weekend with just a chance of a flurry in Northeastern PA and on Long island today, with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Tomorrow is looking nice, but cold, with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower in the morning or early afternoon in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, NYC, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT, as a weak disturbance passes to our north.  Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Monday, clouds will increase late in the day as a cold front approaches from the west. Highs will be in the mid 50’s to mid 60’s as warm air surges northward ahead of the approaching cold front.

Tuesday rain will develop in the morning rom west to east, possibly mixing with or changing to snow before ending in the late morning or early afternoon. Some light snowfall accumulations are possible. Highs will range from the low to mid 30’s in Northeastern PA to the mid to upper 40’s on Eastern Long Island.

Below are the latest runs of the ECMWF (European model) snow map ensemble mean (on bottom) and the operational run of the ECMWF (European model on top).  We will just have to wait and see how this works out. Those of you who have been following this the past few days will notice how the snow amounts have been lowering with time, as the model is starting to see the track of this storm inland across our area, rather than off the coast, which allows warm air to remain in place in our area longer. Wednesday and Thursday will then be variably cloudy with highs in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s Wednesday and the mid 30’s to low 40’s Thursday.

Next Friday, November 15th and next Saturday, November 16th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower as a disturbance may develop near the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Sunday, November 17th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower in the morning. Highs will be in the 40’s.

Next Monday, November 18th, there will be a chance of a rain as a storm may form near the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Next Tuesday, November 19th, and next Wednesday, November 20th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Next Thursday, November 21st, is then looking variably cloudy with highs in the 40’s.

Have a fantastic day!
