Sunday, November 10, 2019 - Morning Weather Discussion

Rain changing to snow Tuesday, possibly accumulating in much of our area…

Today will be variably cloudy with a chance of a sprinkle tonight in far northern Northeast PA. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with highs ranging from the mid 40’s to mid 50’s in Northeastern PA to the upper 50’s to low 60’s in Central NJ.

Tuesday, a strong cold front will be passing through our area, causing rain to develop from west to east, possibly mixing with or changing to snow before ending in the evening. High temperatures will be early in the morning in the pre-dawn hours, ranging from the mid 40’s to mid 50’s, then dropping rapidly to the upper 20’s and 30’s in Northeastern PA by about sunrise, the low to mid 30’s in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, and Orange County, NY by about mid-morning, the low to mid 30’s in Northeastern NJ and the rest of Southeastern NY State by about mid-day, the low to mid 30’s in Central NJ, NYC, Western Long Island, and Fairfield County, CT, by early afternoon, by late afternoon on Eastern Long Island. It will also become windy, with gusts up to 40 mph possible.

Total possible snowfall accumulations:

Coating to an inch possible:  Southeast and East Central PA, Southern, Central, and Northeastern NJ, NYC, and Long Island

Coating to an inch or two possible:  Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT

Coating to three inches possible:  Northeastern PA

Wednesday will then be variably cloudy and windy in the morning with gusts of up to 35 mph possible. Highs will range from the mid 20’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 30’s in Central NJ.

Thursday will be variably cloudy with a slight chance of a rain or snow shower on Eastern Long Island at night. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Friday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a shower in Central NJ and on Long Island as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the 40’s.

Saturday will be variably cloudy with highs in the low to mid 30’s.

Next Sunday, November 17th, through next Tuesday November 19th, are then looking unsettled with a chance of showers each day as a disturbance may develop along the East Coast. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Sunday, and the mid 40’s to low 50’s next Monday and Tuesday.

Next Wednesday, November 20th, is then looking variably cloudy with highs in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Next Thursday, November 21st and next Friday, November 22nd, are then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a shower. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s next Thursday and the 40’s to low 50’s next Friday.

Next Saturday, November 22nd, is then looking variably cloudy with highs in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.
