Friday, December 13, 2019 - Evening Weather Discussion

Flooding rain likely in Eastern NJ, Rockland and Westchester Counties in NY, NYC, Long Island, and Fairfield County, CT, tonight into tomorrow morning!

There will be rain tonight, becoming heavy at times late at night as a strong disturbance passes through our area.

Tomorrow there will be rain, heavy at times in the morning, with a bit of a break possible for a few hours in the late morning into early afternoon, with light rain and showers then ending at night. There will likely be some flooding in Eastern NJ, NYC, on Long Island, in Rockland and Westchester Counties in Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT, where 1.5-3.5 inches of rain could fall. Highs tomorrow will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Sunday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower or flurry in Northeastern PA. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Monday, clouds will increase with a chance of rain or snow developing in the afternoon and evening from southwest to northeast as a disturbance approaches from the west.

Late Monday night any snow will likely change to freezing rain in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, Southeastern NY State, on Western Long Island, and in Fairfield County, and rain in Central NJ and Eastern Long Island, then finally changing to rain Tuesday morning, with rain continuing until late afternoon and evening on Tuesday. Highs will be in the low to mid 30’s.

Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower or flurry in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.

Thursday and next Friday, December 20th, are then looking nice with highs in the mid 20’s to low 30’s Thursday and the mid to upper 30’s next Friday.

Next Saturday, December 21st, into the morning of next Sunday, December 22nd, clouds will increase with a slight chance of rain or snow as a storm may form off the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Saturday and the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Sunday.

Next Monday and Christmas Eve will then be variably cloudy with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Christmas Day is then looking variably cloudy with a chance of a rain or snow shower. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.
