Monday, December 9, 2019 - Evening Weather Discussion

More rain tomorrow and then the rain changes to snow tomorrow night into Wednesday morning…

The rain will continue through tomorrow evening, although there may be a break early tomorrow morning. Highs tomorrow will be in the morning and will range from the upper 40’s to low 50’s in Northeastern PA to the low to mid 60’s in East Central NJ.

The rain will then start to change to snow tomorrow night between about 8 pm and 10 pm in Northeastern PA, between about 10 pm and midnight in East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, most of Southeastern NY State and in Fairfield County CT, between about midnight and 2 am in Northeastern NJ and NYC, around 2 am in West Central NJ, and between about 2 am and 4 am in East Central NJ and on Long Island.

Wednesday, the snow will end between about 10 am and 12 noon in East Central and Northeastern PA, between about 11 am and 1 pm in Northwestern NJ and Orange County, NY, about 1 pm and 2 pm in West Central and Northeastern NJ and Southeastern NY State, in East Central NJ, NYC, and Fairfield County, CT, between about 2 pm and 3 pm, and on Long Island between about 3 pm and 4 pm. Highs will be in the 30’s.

My latest guess on total possible snowfall accumulations is as follows:

1-3 inches:  East Central and Northeastern PA, Central and Northeastern NJ, NYC, and Long Island

2-5 inches:  Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT

Thursday will then be variably cloudy with highs in the low to mid 30’s.

Friday, clouds will increase, with rain developing at night as a storm system approaches from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the upper 30’s and 40’s.

Sunday will be variably cloudy with a chance of shower. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.
