Sunday, December 1, 2019 - Evening Weather Discussion

Rain/snow/freezing rain/sleet tonight, changing to snow tomorrow as a Nor’easter develops…

The rain/snow/freezing rain/sleet will change to snow tonight and tomorrow from west to east across our area before ending tomorrow night, as a Nor’easter develops along the NJ Coast and pulls cold air back into our area. It will be windy, with gusts up to 40 mph possible, especially along the coast and on Long Island. Highs will be in the morning and will range from the low 30’s in Northeastern PA to the upper 40’s to low 50’s near the Central NJ Coast.

The snow will end from early in the morning in East Central and Northeastern PA, to the late morning on Eastern Long Island. Highs will be in the 30’s, with some low 40’s possible along the coast.

Total possible snowfall accumulations:

1-3 inches:  East Central NJ and Long Island

2-4 inches:  West Central NJ, NYC

3-7 inches:  Northeastern NJ, Southern Westchester County, NY, Southern Fairfield County, CT

4-8 inches:  East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, (except Northern Sussex and Northern Passaic) Rockland, Northern Westchester and Putnam Counties in NY, and Northern Fairfield County, CT

6-10 inches:  Northern Sussex and Northern Passaic in NJ

6-12 inches:  Northeastern PA and Orange County, NY

Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower in the morning and again at night. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Thursday is then looking nice with highs in the 30’s to low 40’s.

Friday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower in the morning as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Saturday and next Sunday, December 8th, will then be nice with highs in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s Saturday and the 30’s to low 40’s next Sunday.

Next Monday, December 9th, into the morning of next Tuesday, December 10th, there will be a chance of rain as a storm system passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s next Monday and the 40’s to low 50’s next Tuesday.

Next Wednesday, December 11th, through next Friday, December 13th are then looking nice with highs in the 30’s next Wednesday, the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Thursday, and the 40’s next Friday.

Next Saturday, December 14th, and next Sunday December 15th, there will be a chance of rain as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.
