A strong disturbance is approaching from the west and will cause snow to develop in our area from the late morning through the afternoon throughout our area from west to east. The snow should start in the Allentown and Scranton PA areas between about 11 am and 12 pm, about 1 pm in Edison, Morristown, and Vernon, NJ, about 1:30 pm in NYC, Western Long Island, and Southern Westchester County, NY, about 2:30 pm in Fairfield County, CT, and about 3 pm on Eastern Long Island. The snow will start to change to rain from south to north starting around 7 pm in Central NJ, to around 11 pm in Northern Fairfield County, CT. Highs will be at midnight tomorrow night and will range from the mid 30’s in Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State (excluding far southern Westchester County, NY, and in inland Fairfield County, CT. The snow may then change back to light snow/snow showers/or flurries early Sunday morning before ending.
Total possible snowfall accumulation before the change to rain:
Coating to an inch or two: Coastal NJ, Eastern Long Island
1-3 inches: southern portions of inland Central NJ and Western Long Island
2-4 inches: northern portions of Central NJ and New York City
3-6 inches: East Central PA, Northeastern NJ, Southern Westchester County, NY
4-6 inches: Northwestern NJ
4-7 inches: Northeastern PA, Southeastern NY State (excluding Southern Westchester County)

Sunday, there will be a chance of flurries, snow showers, or sprinkles in the morning, then it will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower or flurry again at night. Highs Sunday will be early in the morning and will range from the mid 30’s in Northeastern PA to the upper 40’s along the NJ Coast, then will drop to 30’s by afternoon.
Monday through next Friday, January 24th, are then looking mostly sunny with highs gradually rising from the 20’s to low 30’s Monday, to the mid 20’s to mid 30’s Tuesday, the 30’s Wednesday, the upper 30’s to mid 40’s Thursday, and the low to mid 40’s Friday.
Next Saturday, January 25th, and next Sunday, January 26th, there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.
Next Monday, January 27th, is then looking variably cloudy with highs in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.
Next Tuesday, January 28th, there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance may pass through our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.
Next Wednesday, January 29th, and next Thursday, January 30th, are then looking variably cloudy with highs in the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Wednesday and the 30’s next Thursday.
