Today a strong disturbance will approach our area from the west. This will cause snow to develop between around 11 am in the Allentown and Scranton PA areas, around 12:30 pm in Edison, Morristown, and Vernon, NJ, around 1 pm in NYC, around 2 pm in Fairfield County, CT, and around 3 pm on Eastern Long Island. The snow will then change to rain about 7:30 pm in Allentown, PA, Trenton and Edison, NJ, about 8:30 pm in Stroudsburg, PA, Morristown, NJ, and NYC, about 9:30 PM in Middletown, NY and Islip, Long Island, and about 10 pm in Northwestern Fairfield County, CT, and on Eastern Long Island. Highs will be at midnight and will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s
Total possible snowfall accumulation:
Coating to an inch: Coastal NJ
1-2 inches: Eastern Long Island
1-4 inches: inland Central NJ, NYC, Western Long Island
3-6 inches: East Central PA, Northeastern NJ, Southern Westchester County, NY
4-6 inches: Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southern Fairfield County, CT
5-7 inches: Southeastern NY State (excluding Southern Westchester County, NY), and Northern Fairfield County, CT

Tomorrow the rain will change back to light snow and flurries early in the morning before ending in most locations later in the morning, then it will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower or flurry at night. Temperatures early in the morning in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s, dropping to the mid 20’s to mid 30’s by afternoon.
Monday through Friday will then be nice with highs gradually rising from the 20’s to low 30’s Monday, to the mid 20’s to mid 30’s Tuesday, the mid to upper 30’s Wednesday, the 40’s Thursday, and the mid to upper 40’s Friday.
Next Saturday, January 25th, there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.
Next Sunday, January 26th, through next Wednesday, January 28th, are then looking variably cloudy with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Sunday, the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Monday, the mid 30’s to mid 40’s next Tuesday, and the mid 30’s to mid 40’s next Wednesday.
Next Thursday, January 29th, and next Friday, January 30th, are then looking variably cloudy with highs in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.
