Thursday, January 16, 2020 - Evening Weather Discussion

Snow changing to rain Saturday, then colder, then a chance of a storm again next weekend, but...

There will be a chance of snow showers or flurries tonight and then tomorrow will be nice with highs in the 20’s to low 30’s.

Saturday, clouds will increase with snow developing from west to east across our area in the late morning and afternoon from west to east as a disturbance approaches our area from the west. The snow will then change to rain at night from south to north. Highs will be at night in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Total possible snowfall accumulations: 

Coating to an inch:  Near the NJ Coast and on Coastal Long Island

One to two inches:  inland Central NJ, NYC, and inland Long Island

One to three inches:  East Central PA, Northeastern NJ

Two to four inches:  Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, Fairfield County, CT

Sunday the precipitation will end early in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the upper 20’s and 30’s.

Monday through next Friday, January 24th, will then be nice with highs in the 20’s to low 30’s Monday, the mid 20’s to low 30’s Tuesday, the low to mid 30’s Wednesday, the upper 30’s to mid 40’s Thursday, and the mid to upper 40’s next Friday.

Next Saturday, January 25th, there will be a chance of rain as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Next Sunday, January 26th, through next Wednesday, January 29th are then looking variably cloudy with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Sunday, the mid 30’s to low 40’s next Monday, the 30’s next Tuesday, and the low to mid 30’s next Wednesday.
