Tuesday, January 14, 2020 - Morning Weather Discussion

Some light rain today and Thursday morning, then colder with a chance of snow…

Today light rain will develop late this morning or this afternoon, ending tonight as a weak disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Tomorrow will be variably cloudy with highs in the mid 40’s to low 50’s.

Thursday will be variably cloudy with a chance of light rain or showers in the morning as a cold front passes through our area and then a chance of a snow squall, snow shower, or flurry in the afternoon or at night as some Lake Effect moisture may reach our area. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.

Friday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 20’s to low 30’s.

Saturday, a strong disturbance will pass through our area, bringing a chance of snow developing in the afternoon and evening from west to east, changing to rain at night in Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island, and possibly in Northeastern NJ, Southern Westchester County, NY, and Southern Fairfield County, CT. A significant snowfall accumulation is likely in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY, in Northern Fairfield County, CT, and is possible in Northeastern NJ, Central NJ, NYC, and in Southern Westchester County, NY and in Southern Fairfield County, CT. Lows will be in the mid teens to low 20’s, with highs at night from the low to mid 30’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 40’s along the coast and on Long Island.

Sunday and Monday will then be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower or flurry. Highs will be in the upper 20’s and 30’s Sunday and in the 20’s to low 30’s Monday.

Next Tuesday, January 21st and next Wednesday, January 22nd, will be variably cloudy with highs in the mid teens to mid 20’s next Tuesday and in the upper teens to mid 20’s next Wednesday.

Next Thursday, January 23rd and next Friday, January 24th, will be variably cloudy with a chance of snow shower Thursday night and Friday as a weak disturbance passes to our south and east. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to low 30’s next Thursday and the low to mid 30’s next Friday.

Next Saturday, January 25th, there will be a chance of rain or snow developing as a disturbance develops near the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.

Next Sunday, January 26th, there will be a chance of rain or snow, ending at night as the disturbance may pass through our area. Highs will be in the 30’s.

Next Monday, January 27th, is then looking variably cloudy with highs in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s.
