Sunday, February 9, 2020 - Morning Weather Discussion

Some snow in parts of our area tonight, changing to rain tomorrow, cold Friday and Saturday, then warming again…

Today will be variably cloudy with a chance of some flurries this morning, then light snow and flurries developing tonight in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT, and light rain or light snow developing in Northeastern NJ, as a disturbance approaches from the west. Highs today will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Tomorrow light rain will develop early in the morning in Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island and any light snow will change to rain. A trace to an inch of snowfall accumulation is possible in East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT, and 1-3 inches of accumulation is possible in Northeastern PA. Highs tomorrow will be in the low to mid 40’s.

Tuesday, light rain will be likely with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Wednesday, clouds will increase late in the day with a chance of rain developing at night, possibly starting as snow in Northeastern PA, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT, as a strong disturbance approaches from the west. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.

Thursday there will be a chance of rain ending in the morning, followed by clearing, as a cold front passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.

Friday and Saturday will be variably cloudy and cold with highs in the 20’s to low 30’s Friday and the mid 20’s to low 30’s Saturday.

Next Sunday, February 16th, through next Thursday, February 20th, there will be a chance of a shower each day. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Sunday, the mid 40’s to low 50’s next Monday, the mid 40’s to low 50’s next Tuesday, the 40’s next Wednesday, and the upper 30’s to mid 40’s next Thursday.

Next Friday, February 21st, and next Saturday, February 22nd, will be variably cloudy with highs in the 40’s next Friday and the mid 40’s to low 50’s next Saturday.
