Thursday, April 16, 2020 - Evening Weather Discussion

Late season snow still possible for northern parts of our area tomorrow night into Saturday morning…

It will be variably cloudy tonight with a chance of a flurry or sprinkle, rain or snow shower, or snow squall as some Lake Effect moisture may reach our area. There could be a bit of accumulation in the highest elevations of Northeastern PA.

Tomorrow, a disturbance will develop in the Central United States, then will head eastward along a cold front that has stalled just south of our area. This will cause clouds to increase, with rain developing from west to east across our area as a disturbance approaches from the west. The precipitation could fall as snow even from the start in northern parts of Northeastern PA, Northwestern Orange County, and in far northern Fairfield County, CT, and could change to snow in the rest of Northeastern PA, Orange and Putnam Counties in NY State, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT, at night, and could mix with snow later at night in parts of East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, the rest of Southeastern NY State (except Southern Westchester County, and in Southern Fairfield County, CT.  Lows will be in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s with highs in the 40’s.
