Thursday, April 16, 2020 - Morning Weather Discussion

Accumulating snow still looking possible for parts of our area Friday night into Saturday morning…

Today will be variably cloudy with a chance of a sprinkle or flurry. Highs will be in the 40’s.

Tomorrow, a cold front will stall near our area, and a disturbance will develop along the front in the Central United States. This disturbance will head eastward and through our area Friday night, exiting off the coast Saturday morning. This will cause rain to develop late in the day, likely changing to snow in Northeastern PA, Orange and Putnam Counties in NY, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT, and possibly mixing with or changing to snow in parts of East Central PA, Northwestern NJ, the rest of Southeastern NY State (except Southern Westchester County), and in Southern Fairfield County, CT. Lows tomorrow morning will be in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s with highs in the 40’s to low 50’s, then dropping rapidly after the precipitation starts late in the day.

Saturday, the rain and snow will end in the morning, with 1-3 inches or more of accumulation possible in Northeastern PA, far Northwestern NJ, Orange and Putnam Counties in NY, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT, and a trace to an inch possible in parts of East Central PA, the rest of Northwestern NJ, the rest of Southeastern NY State, and in Southern Fairfield County, CT. Lows will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s with highs in the 40’s.
