Tropical System Likely to Affect Our Area Monday into Tuesday...

The tropical system currently located in the Caribbean Sea, south of Puerto Rico, is likely to reach Tropical Storm strength tonight, then cross Hispaniola tomorrow, weakening, then reaching the Bahamas Friday and possibly making landfall along the Florida East Coast Saturday night or Sunday morning. The storm will then turn due north, possibly making landfall in the Carolinas Monday, with the remnants passing through our area Monday and Tuesday. There is even a chance that the storm could remain just off the coast, maintaining much of its strength as it passes by, but we will have to wait and see.
