Monday, February 1, 2021 - Daily Weather Discussion


A strong Nor'easter is developing and will bring heavy snow today, measured in feet in many places, then the next chance of snow is Sunday, followed by very cold air next Tuesday...


1-2 feet of snow will be likely throughout our area today, with localized amounts of up to 3 feet possible as a strong Nor’easter will form near the Delmarva Peninsula and just off the NJ Coast. It will become windy, with gusts of up to 50 mph inland and up to 60 mph along the coast and on Long Island. Highs will range from the mid to upper 20’s in Northeastern PA to the mid to upper 30’s on Eastern Long Island.


Tomorrow the snow will end early in the morning with a chance of snow showers or flurries the rest of the day. Highs will range from the upper 20’s to low 30’s in Northeastern PA to the mid to upper 30’s on Eastern Long Island.


Wednesday will be variably cloudy with a chance of a snow shower or flurry. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s.


Thursday will then be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 30’s to low 40’s.


Friday there will be a chance of snow/sleet/freezing rain/rain in the morning, ending in the late morning and early afternoon from west to east as a cold front approaches and then passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.


Saturday will be variably cloudy with highs in the 30’s.


Sunday, there will be a chance of snow as a disturbance may develop in the Southeastern United States and then push northeastward. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.


Next Monday, February 8th, there will be a chance of snow ending in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the 20’s.


Next Tuesday, February 9th, will be nice, but very cold, with lows in the single digits to low teens and highs in the upper teens to mid 20’s.


Next Wednesday, February 10th, through next Sunday, February 14th, are currently looking nice with highs in the mid 20’s to low 30’s next Wednesday through Friday, rising to the upper 20’s to mid 30’s next Saturday, and the 30’s next Sunday.
