Some light snow today and then keeping an eye on Saturday, but looking less likely…
Light snow will develop this morning, ending in the late afternoon and early evening as a strong disturbance passes to our south, bringing much of Northern West Virginia, Northern Virginia, Maryland, Washington D.C., and Delaware, up to a foot of snow.
Total possible snowfall accumulation in our area today:
A coating possible: Southeastern NY State, Fairfield County, CT, Eastern Long Island
Coating to an inch possible: Northeastern PA, Northern NJ (roughly north of Rt. 78), NYC, and Western Long Island
1-2 inches possible: East Central PA, Central NJ

Tomorrow through Thursday there will be a chance of a snow show or flurry each day as some Lake Effect moisture may reach our area. Highs will be mainly in the 20’s to mid 30’s.
Friday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s.
Saturday there will be a chance of snow showers or flurries as a disturbance passes well southeast of our area at the same time that a disturbance passes well north of our area. It had looked yesterday morning as if there might be a significant snowstorm next Saturday, but it now appears as if the two disturbances approaching our area won’t come together. If by any chance these two disturbances merge, there would be a significant snowstorm, but again, currently that appears unlikely. Highs will be in the upper 20’s to mid 30’s.
Sunday through next Sunday, January 19th are currently looking pretty good, with a just a chance of some flurries nearly every day. Highs will be mainly in the 20’s to mid 30’s.
