So, Why Isn't The National Weather Service or The News Talking About This Possibility?

Because they largely base their forecasts off of their own model, what I call the American model, and the American model does not currently have this storm. Why not? Because of how it is handling the hurricane that is currently in the Caribbean. The American model brings this hurricane into the Gulf of Mexico, which messes up the air flow across the United States and causes the storm to not form. The European model brings this hurricane into the Yucatan Peninsula, and causes it to dissipate quite a bit, thereby not messing up the airflow across the United States, allowing our storm to form. So, which model is correct? Let me just say that the European is a far superior model with a much higher accuracy rating for a reason. The European model is much more likely to be correct. Of course, that is not a guarantee that it is, and if it is wrong, instead of a foot of snow on Saturday we will be sunny and 50 degrees.
