Well, Well, the New European Model Just Came Out And...

The European model is finally saying that the American model may have been on to something for the past 6 days. The latest run of the European model that just came out has changed quite a bit from its prior runs and now indicates the possibility of the rain changing to a little wet snow in the hilly terrain of Northwest New Jersey on Thursday evening of next week. This is the first run of the European model to show this possibility and it certainly increases my interest in this potential first snow for some areas of Northern New Jersey. The American model continues to be more vigorous with this potential storm system, bringing more precipitation and more cold air with and behind the storm, so we will have to wait and see what happens. At this moment though, it appears that the American model is doing a better job with handling this potential as it has been much more consistent than the European model. Stay tuned for further updates.
