European Model Update
The European model holds firm with all details for tomorrow and Wednesday, however there is one small tweak necessary, and that is due to the fact that the model now shows light snow or flurries possible now all day in Northwest New Jersey and Orange County, New York, starting around 6 am or so, and then encompassing all areas of Northern New Jersey by around 2 or 3 pm and then becoming steady and a bit heavier around 5 or 6 pm. Temperatures will be in the mid 30's during the day, but once the precipitation becomes steadier and a bit heavier, temperatures will quickly drop to 30-32 degrees in most locations of Northern New Jersey, except possibly in extreme Northeast New Jersey right along the Hudson River. Temperatures will then start to rise above freezing from east to west between 8 and 10 pm. Some icing is a definite possibility for the evening commute with a dusting to an inch of snow possible, especially in the highest elevations. Of bigger concern would be the possibility of freezing rain which would could cause icing on roadways during the rush hour tomorrow evening. Then on Wednesday morning we will have very heavy rain just prior to and during the morning commute, causing flash flooding and ponding on roadways and further travel headaches. Temperatures will warm well into the 50's during the day on Wednesday prior to falling back to the 30's by the evening and the rain changing back to snow showers and flurries on Wednesday evening into early on Thanksgiving morning, with a dusting of accumulation possible. Temperatures will then be quite cold on Thanksgiving Day with strong winds as well. In addition, the model is still showing my Nor'easter for next Tuesday and it currently shows it as rain, but it has a much colder look on this run and is close to being snow, so we need to keep a close eye on this as well.
