The latest data that just came continues to suggest that my earlier thoughts were accurate. We are most likely looking at a widespread 6-12 inches across all of Northern New Jersey and probably into New York City itself.
The only thing I would like to add is that the temperatures will likely start out quite warm Wednesday morning, in the upper 30's to possibly even low 40's as the precipitation starts, so it will likely start as light rain or very wet snow that will gradually change over to snow as the temperature will rather quickly drop to 32-34 degrees across Northern New Jersey and into New York City after the precipitation starts to increase in intensity.
Even though it will be above freezing in parts of Northern New Jersey the snow will accumulate as the intensity picks up, as the snow will be falling so hard that it won't have time to melt before it starts to build on itself on the roads.
This will likely lead to horrendous driving conditions on Wednesday afternoon and especially Wednesday evening.
The snow will come to an end around 4 or 5 am on Thanksgiving morning.
More this evening with my evening weather discussion.
Have a nice afternoon.
