The snow will start between 2 pm and 4 pm on Saturday afternoon and will end between about 5 am and 8 am on Sunday morning, although there will be a chance of some flurries or sprinkles lasting until late morning or early afternoon.
The heaviest of the snow will occur between around 5 pm and 1 am, after which time it should just be light and intermittent.
I am expecting total accumulations of 2-4 inches for our entire area (Northern and Central NJ, Northeastern PA, Southeastern NY, New York City, and Long Island).
In fact, I am starting to think that many areas could end up with the 4 inches.
Then we have to watch for the possibility of a significant coastal storm to develop for next Wednesday. As of the moment it looks as if our area will be on the western fringe of what could turn out to be another very significant storm, so we will need to keep a very close eye on this one, especially if you live on Long Island or in New England, where this could turn into yet another blizzard. We shall see.
Please check back tonight for the evening weather discussion.
