Lots of chances for snow…
We will have many chances for snow over the next two weeks as a cold and unsettled weather pattern has set up in our area…
Things will start out nice tomorrow with highs from the upper 30’s to low 40’s in Northeastern PA to the mid 40’s in Central NJ and NYC.
Clouds will then increase Sunday night, with precipitation starting in our area between about 1 am and 4 am Monday morning from west to east across our area. The precipitation should be snow in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northern NJ, north of about Rt. 78, in Southeastern NY, and in Fairfield County, CT. It is possible some snow could make it into Central NJ, NYC, and on Long Island, but any snow there should be very limited, if at all.
The rain and snow should end between about 8 am and 10 am Monday from west to east across the Allentown and New York City Metropolitan areas. Total snowfall accumulations of 1-3 inches are possible in East Central and Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and in Fairfield County, CT, with a dusting to an inch possible in Northeastern NJ. Highs will be in the 40’s.
Tuesday may then start out nice but clouds will increase again in the afternoon, with a chance of rain and snow developing again in the same areas by around evening and continuing through the night. It is possible that some of the areas that start as snow turn to rain early Wednesday morning, but that is still uncertain. The steady precipitation should end around midday Wednesday, with a chance of a rain or snow shower in the afternoon and at night. Total possible snowfall accumulations will be dependent upon exactly where the temperatures warm and the snow changes to rain, but a good guess now would be the same as mentioned for the storm Monday morning. However, if the rain doesn’t change to snow, amounts could be quite a bit higher. Highs Tuesday will be in the low to mid 40’s, and will range from the mid 30’s to the mid 40’s Wednesday.
Thursday then looks cloudy with a chance of rain and snow showers with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.
Friday and next Saturday then look nice, but cold, with highs in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s Friday and Saturday.
Next Sunday we will have a chance of snow as a storm system approaches from the Southeastern United States. Highs will be in the mid 20’s to mid 30’s.
Next Monday we will have a chance of snow ending in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the 20’s.
Next Tuesday we will have another chance of snow as a Nor’easter may form along the NJ Coast. Highs will be in the 30’s.
Next Wednesday we will have a chance of snow ending in the morning, followed by clearing. Highs will be in the 30’s.
Next Thursday then looks nice with highs in the 30’s.
Next Friday we will have increasing cloudiness with another chance for snow to develop. Highs will be in the 30’s.
