Radar and Satellite Image Links So You Can Watch the Storm Develop...

Click here for a fantastic national radar looping image that will allow you to see the precipitation as it approaches our area. The map is also clickable so you can view any radar in the United States.

As you will see, the center of circulation for the disturbance that will be developing our storm tonight is currently over Missouri. As this disturbance moves eastward it will cause a storm to form over Northern Georgia and Western South Carolina tonight. This storm will then track northeastward to the Delmarva Peninsula and then to a point well off the NJ Coast late tonight and to south of Cape Cod by tomorrow morning.

I will be posting my last snowfall accumulation estimate map early this afternoon, so be sure to check back...

Some people have been asking about the temperatures being so warm right now. What is going to happen is that the temperatures at and above cloud level are below freezing, so the precipitation will fall from the clouds as snow in most parts of our area. As the 32 degree snow falls from the clouds it will cause the air between the clouds and the ground to cool to below freezing in most areas, except for mainly South Jersey where temperatures will indeed be too warm in most places.

Remember, if you have any weather related photos or video you would like to share, submit them to edgeweather2@gmail.com with your name and the town where the photo was taken.

Below is a photo of the measurement of the four inches of snow received in Montville, Morris County, NJ yesterday, submitted by Sandy Colfin.  Thanks for sharing Sandy.
