Saturday, February 4, 2023 - Weather Discussion

 

COLD today, but it will be short-lived with highs in the mid to upper 40’s tomorrow and the  mid 50’s in parts of our area Wednesday through Friday, then rain or snow next Saturday…


It is quite cold today with highs only in the low to mid 20’s, but it will be short-lived with highs reaching the mid to upper 40’s tomorrow already and the mid 50’s in parts of our area Wednesday through Friday. There will be a chance of a flurry tomorrow night and Monday as we will be sandwiched between a storm well off the coast and some Lake Effect moisture to our west.


Next Saturday a disturbance may pass through our area, bringing a chance of rain or snow.


New York City did break the latest snowfall in the winter season with the date being February 1st.  The prior record was set on January 29th, 1973. They have been keeping records in Central Park, NYC since 1869.

Friday, February 3, 2023 - Weather Discussion

 

COLD today and tomorrow with a chance of a snow shower or flurry today, and then warming with rain Thursday and next Friday, and rain or snow next Sunday…


It will be cold today and tomorrow as the Polar Vortex will pass through Northern New England. There will also be a chance of a snow shower or flurry today as a bit of Lake Effect moisture could reach our area. Highs will be in the mid teens to mid 20’s today. The lows tomorrow morning will reach as low as the low to mid single digits below zero in Northeastern PA, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT. The highs Saturday will be in the low to mid 20’s.


Temperatures will then quickly warm Sunday to the mid to upper 40’s, the 40’s Monday, the mid 40’s to low 50’s Tuesday, and the upper 40’s to mid 40’s Wednesday and Thursday, but with rain developing Thursday morning as a disturbance approaches our area.


Next Friday there will be a chance of rain as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the mid 40’s to mid 50’s.


Next Saturday there will be a chance of rain or snow ending in the morning as the disturbance departs our area. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.


Next Sunday there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance may develop along the Middle Atlantic Coast. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s.


Next Monday through Thursday are then looking variably cloudy with just a chance of a shower next Tuesday afternoon or evening and Wednesday. Highs will be in the mid 30’s to mid 40’s next Monday, mid 40’s to low 50’s next Tuesday, and the mid 40’s to low 50’s next Wednesday and Thursday.

Some Lake Effect snow showers or flurries possible tomorrow and COLD tomorrow and Saturday, but pretty quiet then until the end of next week…


Today will be nice and then tomorrow there will be a chance for some snow showers or flurries as a bit of Lake Effect moisture may reach our area. It will also be very cold tomorrow and Saturday with lows breaking below zero in some northern sections Saturday morning.


Temperatures will then quickly warm Sunday through the middle of next week before a disturbance reaches our area late next week.

Snow ending this morning with up to an inch of snow possible in parts of our area and then COLD Friday and Saturday before warming again…


A disturbance developed last night along the cold front to our south, bringing our area some surprise snow this morning, with up to an inch of accumulation in parts of our area.


The next story will be the cold Friday and Saturday as the Polar Vortex moves as far south as New England, bringing our area highs on Friday only in the mid teens to mid 20’s, and lows Saturday morning as low as the mid single digits in Northeastern PA, Orange and Putnam Counties in NY State, and in Northern Fairfield County, CT, to the mid single digits in Central NJ and NYC, and rising only to the low to mid 20’s Saturday.


Temperatures will then quickly warm to the mid 40’s Sunday, cool a bit Monday again, then rise to the mid 40’s to low 50’s Tuesday, the mid 40’s to mid 50’s next Wednesday, and the mid 40’s to low 50’s next Thursday and Friday. There will also be a chance of rain next Thursday into Friday morning as a disturbance passes through our area.

There will be a bit of light rain, snow, sleet, and freezing rain in our  area today that could accumulate to a coating to an inch, mainly in parts of Northeastern PA, Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY Sate, and Fairfield County, CT.


The only other weather story to talk about will be the very cold air that will move into our area Friday and Saturday, with highs only reaching the mid teens to mid 20’s Friday and Saturday, and the lows reaching as low as the mid single digits below zero in Northeastern PA, Orange and Putnam Counties in NY and in Northern Fairfield County, CT.

Next Monday, January 30, 2023 - Weather Discussion

 

Fairly quiet for a while, but the big news will be the possibility for temperatures reaching the mid-single digits below zero Saturday morning in parts of our area…


It will be rather quiet through the middle of next week with the only real news being the potential for lows reaching the mid-single digits below zero Saturday morning in Northeastern PA, far Northwestern NJ, Southeastern NY State, and Fairfield County, CT, with highs on Saturday only in the mid teens to low 20’s.


Next Wednesday, a disturbance will approach our area, bringing a chance for a rain or snow shower and highs in the 40’s.


Next Thursday, February 9th into the morning of next Friday, January 10th, there will be a chance of rain or snow as a disturbance passes through our area. Highs will be in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.


Next Saturday and Sunday will then be nice with highs in the upper 30’s to mid 40’s.
